2020 Tata Harrier: List of Upgrades

Tata Motor's flagship SUV gets a bunch of new premium features and a more powerful BS6 powerplant for its 2020 avatar.

India’s most trusted carmaker, Tata Motors, recently launched the updated BS-VI version of its flagship SUV, the Harrier. In terms of design, the car’s exterior mostly stays true to its previous avatar but gets a set of new stylish two-tone Diamond Cut Alloys. On the inside, the Harrier gets a more premium finish and a couple of new additions, such as a new Panoramic sunroof, an additional USB port and a new 6-speed automatic transmission among other things. Prices for the new 2020 Tata Harrier BS6 start from INR 13.69 Lakh (ex-showroom, India) and go up to INR 20.25 Lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the top-end Automatic variant.

Here is a list of all the new upgrades and additions in the 2020 Tata Harrier:

Powerful BS-VI compliant engine

The newly launched Harrier comes fitted with the same Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre Diesel engine as before, however, it is now tuned to produce more power and lower emissions to meet the newly established BS-VI norms. Thus, the engine now produces over 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of peak torque.

New Automatic Gearbox

One of the most important upgrades in the new Harrier is the addition of an automatic gearbox. The SUV is now available with an optional 6-speed automatic gearbox. Tata decided to use this tried and tested Hyundai-sourced automatic gearbox, as it was previously seen on the last-gen Hyundai Tucson and it did a pretty good job.

New Colour Scheme

Another important upgrade in the new Harrier is the addition of a new paint scheme - Calypso Red. This new colour not only amplifies the design of the car but also makes it look much more rugged and aggressive.

Exterior Changes

Apart from feature updates, the new Harrier also gets a bunch of new additional Chrome elements with the Style Pack (available only through Tata Motors Genuine Accessories). Along with this, the car now also gets slightly more aerodynamic ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors), a Chrome strip running by the roofline, a set of new stylish two-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels and a new panoramic sunroof.
