Czech automaker, Skoda has unveiled the all-new Fabia with a bunch of new features and larger dimensions. The new model claims to be longer than the previous generation version, meaning this converts into an extra boot space of almost 50-litres. Apart from the roominess in the cabin, the 2021 Fabia also gets a new all-glass panoramic roof and a bunch of new engine options. Although the car is set to launch globally in September, we won't be seeing it in India anytime soon.
In terms of design, the Fabia gets a new hexagonal grille with sleeker LED headlights, while the rear gets a set of sharp-looking LED taillamps. Skoda has also used colours like graphite grey and magical black around the door mirror caps, front grille, and roof to enhance the design, but these additional design elements have been limited to the premium variants only. Apart from the longer wheelbase, the width of the new Fabia has been increased to 1,780 mm and the tyre sizes also receive an upgrade, as they now range from 14 inches - 18 inches, which look much more substantial.
Inside the new Fabia, we could see a new 9.2-inch infotainment system as standard, along with a 10.25-inch virtual cockpit. The infotainment system has many features such as gesture control and voice assistant. Along with this, the new Fabia also gets the classic Skoda two-spoke multifunction steering wheel. Customers can now also add optional features such as a heated windshield and a heated steering wheel too.
Mechanically, the new Skoda Fabia gets five engine options:
A 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine producing 65 HP and 93 Nm of torque.
A 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine producing 80 HP and 93 Nm of torque.
A 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 95 HP and 175 Nm of torque.
A 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 110 HP and 200 Nm of torque.
A 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 150 HP and 250 Nm of torque.
