With the EV competition getting more and more interesting, Ather Energy is not going to sit quietly. They have decided to quickly expand their presence across India and have also revealed their plans for the coming years.
Ather Energy is looking forward to increasing its presence to over 50 cities in India by April 2022. They are planning to double this by April 2023. As of now, Ather Energy is only operating in 22 cities, including Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Hubli, Kochi, and Ahmedabad.

Along with expanding its presence pan India, the company will be also expanding its Ather Grid fast-changing network. There are plans to have set up 500 fast charging points across India by the end of FY2022.
The company has also inaugurated its 10th Ather Space Experience center in Delhi. With the growing popularity of EVs, it's no surprise that manufacturers like Ather are trying to cater to the expected demand. The company recently opened its manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. This plant has an annual capacity of 1,10,000 scooters and 1,20,000 battery packs. This is currently the national manufacturing hub for the company.
Along with Ather Energy, TVS and Bajaj are also working on expanding their presence by launching their EVs in new markets. Add to that the Ola Electric Scooter, which will be also arriving very soon in the country. There are also rumors suggesting that Hero MotoCorp will be also entering into the EV space by using the battery swapping technology and infrastructure in collaboration with Taiwan's Gogoro.
