BMW Unveils Its First All-Electric SUV EV - iX xDrive50

BMW launches the iX electric SUV with a starting price of $83,200 and with a release date set for November 2021. This Flagship Electric SUV from BMW is aimed to take on the Tesla Model X, Audi E-Tron, Jaguar I-Pace, and Mercedes EQC.

Inside, there is a curved iDrive display with colourful graphics and has a control panel design carrying the BMW principle. Instead of using conventional buttons, the control surface uses active haptic input subdivided by feeler bars to select the iDrive’s menu and other functions.

There is an all-glass panoramic roof on the top that comes with an electro-chromatic dimming and radiant heating system. The BMW iX uses a 400-volt battery pack That can charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just 40 minutes using the 200kW DC fast charger. The long-range BMW iX xDrive40 manages to offer a range of 390 miles, which is 30 miles more than the Tesla Model X.

BMW has announced that the preorders will start by the middle of the year. At this price point, BMW offers an electric all-wheel-drive option that gets the power of up to 523 HP, which can complete 0–100 kmph in just 4.6 seconds.
