Honda has launched its middleweight adventure touring motorcycle, the CB500X. The ex-showroom price of the bike is set at Rs. 6.87 Lakhs. Bookings for the bike are open only at Honda’s premium big bike dealerships – BigWing Topline & BigWing across India. The ADV will be brought on domestic shores through the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route.
The Honda CB500X accompanies a half fairing body similar to its competitors, the Benelli TRK 502, Kawasaki Versys 650, and the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT.

Wheels and Dimensions
The motorcycle rides on 19/17" front and rear alloy wheels hitched to 41mm telescopic forks at the front with 150mm of travel and a nine-position preload adjustable mono-shock at the rear with a travel of 135mm. The Honda ADV gets a practical enough ground clearance of 181 mm to tackle offroad obstacles while the seat height sits at 830 mm. The bike also gets a 310 mm petal disc at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear to carry out the braking duties along with dual-channel ABS.
Features
The motorcycle gets all-LED lighting with LED headlamps, taillights, and indicators. It also gets Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) tech and Honda Ignition Security System (HISS) theft deterrent.
The instrument cluster on the ADV is an LCD unit displaying information like the gear position, engine temperature, navigation, and other basic information.

Engine and Gearbox
The engine that powers the CB500X is a 471cc, eight-valve, liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder powerhouse putting out 47bhp at 8,500rpm and 43.2Nm at 6,500rpm. The motor is synced to a six-speed gearbox and slipper clutch. The motorcycle is available in two paint schemes: Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic.
