The much-anticipated Hyundai Alcazar has arrived in India at Rs 16.30 lakh for the petrol version and 16.53 lakh diesel version. Bookings have already Hyundai dealerships and online with the booking amount set at Rs 25,000.
The exterior of the Alcazar gets subtle design changes to differentiate it from the new Creta, this includes a new grille, updated front bumper, prominent rear quarter glass, new wraparound tail-lights, faux dual exhaust tips, and large 18-inch alloy wheels.
The Alcazar comes in three trim levels - Prestige, Platinum, and Signature, and is available in six colors - Taiga Brown, Typhoon Silver, Polar White, Titan Grey, Phantom Black, and Starry Night. Among these white and grey will be offered in a dual-tone scheme.
Inside welcomes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Hyundai’s connected car tech. Alcazar is had a 7-seat with bench seating in the second row and also a variant with captain chairs. The interior has a brown dual-tone color scheme.
As for features, Hyundai has included a lane change camera, 360-degree camera, in-built middle-row sun shades, panoramic sunroof, ISOFIX child seat mounts, wireless phone charging, and automatic climate control.
The Hyundai Alcazar is powered by either a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 159hp and 192Nm, or with a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine from the Creta that produces 115hp and 250Nm but tuned differently. Both variants come with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.
The petrol-manual configuration can go from 0-100kph in 9.5sec. Alcazar comes with multiple drive modes to choose from Comfort, Eco, and Sport, as well as the multiple traction control modes to choose from Sand, Snow, and Mud. The new Hyundai Alcazar will compete against MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV500, and even the upcoming new Mahindra XUV700 (that replaces the current XUV500) later this year.
