Hyundai Alcazar: Top-3 Highlights

Hyundai's upcoming three-row SUV, Alcazar, might personify dependability and indulgence but it draws inspiration from the royal class of palaces and forts, depicting glory, room and durability. Although it is constructed to reinvent the driving experience with a mix of skillfulness and futuristic characteristics, the design is heavily inspired by the brand’s best-selling vehicle, Creta. Once launched, the Alcazar will rival the likes of the MG Hector Plus and the newly launched Tata Safari. Just like its rivals, the Alcazar will be available with both 6/7-seater variants. This SUV will likely be priced anywhere around the INR 13 - 20 Lakhs price range and is expected to launch by the end of this month.

Here are the top highlights of the upcoming Hyundai Alcazar:

Engine

The Alcazar will be getting an all-new 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which will produce about 159 PS and 191 Nm of peak torque. Apart from this, Hyundai will also be using its tried and tested 1.5-litre turbodiesel engine from the Creta, which generates about 115 PS and 250 Nm of torque.

Premium Feel

Despite being a 6/7-seater SUV, the Alcazar will be quite luxurious and it's expected to provide a more premium feel than its younger 5-seater sibling. Although Hyundai hasn't shown us the interior yet, they claim it will have more space and comfort elements, thanks to the additional 150mm of wheelbase over the Creta.

Advanced Safety Features

As safety has become a significant automotive buying decision in India, Hyundai is expected to add ADAS (Adaptive Driver-Assistance Safety features) to the Alcazar. The ADAS includes features like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Warning Systems, Collision Warning Systems, Blind Spot Detection Systems, Night Vision Systems and Parking Assistance Systems. This should give Hyundai the edge over its rivals and it might eventually become the selling point for this family-friendly SUV.
