Hyundai Motor India Foundation helped renovate two government schools

HMIF under its corporate social responsibility donated about INR 1.2 crores to help renovate two government public schools in Sukhrali village of Gurugram, India.




The Hyundai Motor India Foundation, which is a philanthropic arm of the Hyundai Motor India Limited, in order to “give back to the society” and initiate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR); the Hyundai Motor India Foundation donated about INR 1.2 crore to develop two government public schools in Gurugram. The schools have been modernized into total “Smart Schools” with facilities and amenities to improve educational facilities. Now, the development of “Government Primary School, which is an all-boys school which was founded in 1956 and the other “Government Senior Secondary School” which is a co-educational school established in 1971. Both the schools are situated in Sukhrali village of Gurugram and are situated about 2.5 kilometers just as far from the new Hyundai Motor India corporate office which is under construction.


HMIF, under this initiative, has helped the schools with respect to facilities such as modification of classrooms and staff rooms with new furniture, fencing walls, paintwork, washrooms, lab and computer with CCTV, fans, pantry, water coolers, power backups, projector, library, PA and much more. The HMIF practices activities in the areas of Community Development, Health Care, Educational and Vocational Training, Environment, Road Safety, Art, Science, Technology, etc and under this initiative the Trustee of Hyundai Motor Foundation, Mr. Stephen Sudhakar, wisely addressed “Being a socially responsible and a caring brand, Hyundai is committed to create a significant difference in the lives of communities where we operate. Children are our future torchbearers and quality education is imperative for India’s holistic development. The renovation of these schools is a small step in that direction that will enable in nurturing and fostering the future generations of tomorrow.  This initiative will empower smart education and provide equal education led opportunities to kids”.


Its philanthropic arm, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) is a fully owned subsidiary of  Hyundai Motor Company. The HMIL is the first smart solutions company in India and also a top exporter of cars in the Indian market where most of the cars are exported to Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, Australia and the Pacific that counts in a total of about 91 countries. It serves about 12 cars in India from the entry-level Santro to an electric Kona. Hyundai has its manufacturing plant set in Chennai which also has a backbone of a multi-million dollar Research and Development facility in Hyderabad whereas the HMIL currently has about 502 dealers and 1,324 service centers set across India.
