All-New Mercedes-Benz S-Class Launched In India At Rs 2.17 Crore

Mercedes launched their all-new Mercedes-Benz S-class luxury in India for a starting price of Rs 2.17 crore (ex-showroom, India). This newest version of S-class was launched internationally late last year.

As for the design, the 2021 S-class has much in common with the new E-class’ design, an evolution from the previous generation. On the outside, the S-Class features a new set of ‘Digital Light’ LED headlights. There is also the new chrome grille with three horizontal blades, front bumper with larger air intakes, pop-out door handles and wraparound LED tail-lights added to this sedan. Mercedes is offering five color options, this includes Designo Diamond White, Onyx Black, Anthracite Blue, Rubellite Red, and Emerald Green.

Inside, there is a new 12.8-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system accompanied by a 12.3-inch digital instrument display. These run the latest Mercedes MBUX system (NTG7) and supports features like facial, voice, and fingerprint recognition. This system also has 320GB of storage with 16GB of RAM. Other premium features include the Burmester 4D surround sound system, and massaging seat upfront.

Moving to the rear part, the passengers can adjust their leg-rest and massage function electronically. Rear seats also get entertainment touchscreens and a central tablet controller. As for safety, the new S-class gets front airbags for the rear seat passengers. Customers can choose between the interior color schemes that are available: Macchiato Beige or Sienna Brown Nappa leather upholstery depending on the exterior color.

New Mercedes-Benz S-Class variants are powered by two engine options in petrol and diesel. The S 400d comes with the OM656 in-line 6-cylinder diesel engine capable of producing 330hp and 700Nm of torque. The S 450 comes with an in-line 6-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 367hp and 500Nm. Both variants get the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system and a 9-speed automatic gearbox as a standard. Depending upon the models, there is also the rear-wheel steering option.

The all-new Mercedes S-Class will continue to compete against luxury limousines such as the BMW 7 Series and Audi A8. Variant wise pricing (ex-showroom, India) listed below:
