Piaggio One Electric Scooter Unveiled Globally

Piaggio has now revealed its second all-electric scooter called the Piaggio One. The company has decided for the scooter to be launched by the end of next month. Details about the vehicle are scarce at the moment but one thing is clear, there is a removable under-seat battery pack and it gets a hub-mounted motor.

Just like most electric scooters, the features list for this scooter is very detailed, with specifications including keyless function, multiple riding models and USB charging. Taking inspiration from its brilliant Vespa counterparts, the Piaggio One features a one-sided front suspension and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at the front and rear. The battery can be charged using a conventional 5-amp socket. Although there is no data about the charging time of the scooter, it is expected to be equipped with a fast-charging system.

Piaggio has announced and made clear that the Piaggio One platform will slowly develop to include an electric moped and electric motorcycle along with everything that comes in between. All the models are rumoured to include swappable battery packs while output levels will vary. As far as India is concerned, the Piaggio One won't be seen in showrooms anytime soon. Diego Graffi, the head of Piaggio's operations in India, mentioned at the Auto Expo that a different electric scooter under a subsidiary badge would be coming out soon. Considering the current conditions and the ongoing rumours, an Aprilia or Vespa electric scooter may hit the Indian roads sometime in the upcoming future.
