Renault 4 EV To Launch By 2024

Renault has confirmed that they will be reviving the 4 moniker. This will be a new retro-themed electric car that will be called 4ever. This will be joining with the upcoming Renault 5 and MeganE as one of 10 new EVs Renault is planning to launch by 2025.

Renault 4, which was originally produced from 1961 to 1994. The new Renault 4ever will be using the same CMF-BEV small-car platform as that of the 5. While the 5 will be a sporty hatch, the 4ever is more likely to be a compact crossover.

Both, the 5 and 4ever, will be getting a new battery and electric motor technology developed by the Renault Group. Renault is expecting that these technologies will drive down the costs of small EVs. Renault has partnered with Envision AESC to build a battery factory in Douai, which is expected to will open in 2024.

Along with that, Renault also will be working with French start-up Verkor to develop a new high-performance battery for larger models. These batteries will use nickel, manganese, and cobalt (NMW) chemistry, technology.

Renault has also confirmed that their performance brand Alpine will launch its first EV in 2024. All of these are part of the Renault Group’s goal to make up 90 percent of its electric vehicle sale by 2030. The Renault Group will center all of their electric vehicle production in the new ‘ElectriCity’ hub. This will include three plants in northern France. We are expecting the upcoming Renault 4ever will come out from the ‘ElectriCity’ hub
