Say Hello To BMW's First All-Electric 4-door Coupe - The i4

The German Automaker has recently released the images of its all-electric sedan, the i4 during the annual conference of BMW. The company is going to launch the sedan ahead of its schedule and it is going to lock its horns with the Tesla Model 3.

Design

The BMW i4 is a 4-door coupe that heavily borrows its design elements from its IC engine counterpart, the BMW 4 series. It gets the signature BMW headlights that flank outside the humongous kidney-shaped grille along with a functional air dam on the corner of the front and rear bumper. It gets a white coloured alloy-wheel and blue stripes across the body panels which speaks of it being environment friendly.

The i4 shares its interiors with the BMW's flagship electric SUV iX. The dashboard gets a huge curve display which is divided into a 12.3" instrument cluster and a 14.9" infotainment system. The car will come equipped with BMW's 8th-gen iDrive operating system offering a lot of customization options for the driver.

Specs & Performance

The i4 will be powered by an 80kWh capacity battery pack with a maximum power output of 390 kW (523 HP). BMW claims that the battery of the car will weigh around 550 kilos, yet it will just take 4 seconds to do a 0 - 100 kmph sprint. The electric sedan has a significant range of 590 Km (WLTP) on a single charge. If connected to a proper charging outlet, the car will just take a nap of 35 minutes to juice up to 80 percent of its charging capacity.

BMW is going to release the full spec sheet in the coming weeks of this month.
