The first thing to notice is that the Jimny Lite will not come with alloy wheels but with black steel wheels instead. Jimny Lite will also miss fog lamps and projector headlamps.

As for the entertainment, it will use the SmartPlay infotainment system that has the 2-DIN audio system, the same audio system that can be seen on other Maruti Suzuki mid-spec models sold in India.

What's the good news is that Suzuki won’t downgrade what's under the hood, as the Jimney Lite will get the same 102hp 1.5-liter petrol mated to a five-speed manual transmission. It will also come with standard four-wheel drive gear including low range, The same one found in the more premium Suzuki SUVs.

The Jimny Lite will be built in Japan and will be introduced first in the Australian market where it will go on sale in August this year. Maruti Suzuki already builds and exports the Jimny Sierra to multiple international markets, so we can keep up our hopes that we may see the Jimny Lite running on the Indian roads very soon.
