Yamaha May Launch The FZ-X On June 18

Reports suggest that Yamaha may soon launch the much-awaited FZ-X on June 18 in India. The Japanese manufacturer has sent out a media invite for June 18. While it hasn’t been mentioned that this will be an invite for the launch event for FZ-X, we are expecting to see this bike on the 18th.

For the design of FZ-X Yamaha has taken a neo-retro approach, with a classic design that features modern touches. There is also an old-school round headlight that replaces the FZ’s streetfighter face, fork gaiters, and minimal sump protection give the bike a scrambler vibe. Yamaha has also given it a touch of the cruiser, thanks to the tall fuel tank that swoops down to the rider’s seat.

The Yamaha FZ-X will come with a 149cc single-cylinder engine capable of producing 12.4hp of power at 7,250rpm. The torque is expected to unchanged, at 13.3Nm. Leaks also suggest a wheelbase of 1330mm, identical to the standard FZ. By this, we are expecting to see the same chassis and cycle parts as that what we have seen in FZ on the FZ-X. This means we can expect to see a single-downtube frame suspended on a telescopic fork and mono-shock with 17-inch alloy wheels.

As we have seen, it seems like the FZ-X has mostly cosmetic tweaks, so we can hope that the FZ-X to not be that much expensive as that of the FZ or FZS models. We are expecting a price tag of around Rs 1.15 lakh for the price of FZ-X in India.
